Is that my cue?
Hi there! It's me... Old Faithful. I'm a geyser here at Yellowstone National Park. I'm sure you've heard of me. Well here's the scoop... I'm kind of a big deal around these parts. You could say that I'm a maverick of a geyser. I'm old but I still do fabulous work. I'm actually the most famous geyser in the world. How cool is that?! Out of all the beautiful attractions in this massive park, I get to be the most visited. I can't tell you how honored I am that I get the chance to meet more kinds of people than anyone or anything else in the world. I've even met Amish people! I'm not quite sure how they got here though. But anyway... back to me. My name again is Old Faithful, in case you've forgotten already. I was given this name because, well.... I'm faithful! I erupt about every ninety minutes and I give put on quite a show. I'm sure you've all seen my work. It's pretty good right? Yeah... I know, I think so too. Many people don't know this but there's a lot of mental preparation involved in getting ready for my shows. Seriously! You try expelling 3,700 to 8,400 gallons of scalding hot water from YOUR mouth for 2 to 5 minutes straight and tell me if it's easy. That's what I thought... you couldn't do it could you? That's okay hun, practice makes perfect. I'm sure you will get it eventually. Well it's been lovely chatting with you all but I've got to run. It's nearly time for another show. Ta ta for now!

I was raised in an unmentionable hellhole two hours away from there and I couldn't really care less about Old Faithful, or all of Yellowstone park for that matter. I mean save the geothermal abnormalities of the area nothing really all that unique is there. I can see all those animals a lot easier and cheaper in Grand Teton on the other side of the pass. So I have a question, why do you care about Yellowstone, geysers are boring and only cool once.
Ha ha Well to be honest with you I was much more interested in Yellowstone before this English class. I still love it and think it's beautiful park but I am pretty tired of writing about it since the whole semester has had to consist of the same thing... it gets boring. I do think the geysers are cool but my favorite thing is the hot pools and springs, and the animals of course. I'm sure my view would be much different if I had lived so close to it like you, but for now I still think it's fascinating and unique.
yeah writing about the same thing gets pretty tough, and I am sort of sick of my topic just because of how much we had to write about it. O well I guess we are almost done with the class now anyway. Your thing about Old Faithful was cool, or at least I thought so. I did not know that it happened that often and that regularly. I also thought that it only shot a little water up for a sort amount of time. I have never been to Yellow Stone and this makes me think of going just because I have never been befor. O and Casey, stop craping on absolutly everyones parade you are kind of a hater.
It would definitely be worth a trip to Yellowstone I think. I personally don't think Old Faithful is the neatest thing there but it's very cool to see it if you haven't before. Yeah I didn't know it shot out so much water each time it erupted, I thought that was kind of amazing. But if you ever go to Yellowstone make sure to see the Grand Prismatic Spring, the West Thumb Geyser Basin, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone... good stuff.
Speaking of haters, why's everybody gotta be hatin' on a long sustained project? The idea is to keep looking for interesting stuff that will change the way you think about things. Also, it's good practice for later when you have to do long, sustained, in-depth projects.
That said, I can understand how doing it for the first time can be difficult. Sometimes you go weeks, even months without making any progress in research, and then BAM! you find the right source and it re-envigorates your thinking.
